Gerding Theatre at the Armory
Portland Center Stage
Landry & Bogan worked with GBD Architects and the staff of Portland Center Stage to design the conversion of the landmark 1891 Armory Building in the Pearl District of Portland, OR, into a new home for PCS. Along with the 600-seat Bob and Diana Gerding Theatre and the 200 seat flexible Studio Theatre, the Armory contains a costume shop, props, dye and crafts areas, dressing rooms and a rehearsal room as well as offices and meeting space for PCS.
The Armory Building became the first performing arts facility and the first historic renovation to earn a LEED Platinum rating for sustainable design from the U.S. Green Building Council.
